Carmel on the first peg went on quite well and kept the pace throughout the match and ended winning on 2.47kgs
Last Sunday it was the third meeting for the pole fishing league 2024 organised by Hooked on Fishing Club.
Venue chosen with the help of the club and a special permit was Gozo pontoons. Indeed a nice venue and ideal for all float enthusiasts.
Crossed ferries on the 4:45 trip and most of anglers travelled by foot to the other side of the maltese islands.
It was a nice match and pegs were quite nice and breams kept on being the most fish caught on the day. Pole fishing was only permitted and Carmel on the first peg went on quite well and kept the pace throughout the match and ended winning on 2.47kgs.
Second on the day Isaac Psaila switching from both float to ledgering using his 7 metre rod and managed over 1.7kgs of breams.
Third on the day Adrian Nelson with 1.4kgs of breams.
A nice weaver fish weighing over 200gms was caught on the day, although it can not be registered as a biggest fish but angler Beppe Gouder did quite a nice job to manage to land on just a pole rod.
Well done to all anglers, marshalls and comittee for working on such nice venues.
