Hooked on Fishing Club Malta:
Match Report – Hooked on Fishing Club MaltaDate: 6th AprilLocation: Waterfront, Valletta
The club gathered at the beautiful Valletta Waterfront at 5:30 AM, with anglers chatting and sharing ideas on how to approach the match. The weather held up nicely, allowing the competition to kick off smoothly at 6:30 AM.
Early on, several pegs saw immediate action, with anglers landing breams straight away, while others had a slower start. As the match progressed, a variety of techniques were employed to adapt to the conditions and fish behavior.
The main species caught throughout the match were different types of bream. While no mullet were officially landed, Peter Paul hooked into a promising one—unfortunately, it slipped away before it could be landed. It would have been a prize catch and was heartbreakingly close.
The biggest fish of the day was landed by Issac, who secured a solid 520g bream.
Podium Winners
1st Place: Issac & Justin – Over 4kg of fish landed2nd Place: Brady & Lawrence – Over 3kg landed; an impressive comeback in the final hour after a slow start3rd Place: The Spiteri Brothers – Just under 3kg landed, enough to claim the final podium spot
A big well done to all the anglers who took part, and special thanks to our Marshalls of the day, Adrian and Paul, for ensuring everything ran smoothly.
Special thanks to our main sponsor Fishin Fever tar-Rabat and to the Valletta Waterfront for providing such a scenic venue.
